Nikki Slovak is a fourth year Ph.D. candidate in the archaeology track of Anthropological Sciences. Her research interests include Andean archaeology, mortuary theory, empire expansion, and bioarchaeology. She is currently working on her dissertation proposal, which involves the analysis of skeletal and cultural material from the pre-Colombian site of Ancon, Peru. Using archaeological and isotopic analyses, she is hoping to determine the nature and extent of foreign cultural and/or political influence in the area. Nikki has done the majority of her fieldwork in the Peruvian Andes, but has undertaken field research in the mid-Atlantic U.S. and the Rocky Mountain area. return to speakers and moderators
