John Rick is an Associate Professor of Anthropological Sciences at Stanford University and also serves as Curator of Anthropology at the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for the Visual Arts, Stanford University. He earned his Ph.D. from Michigan in 1978. His areas of interest include Prehistoric archaeology and anthropology of band-level hunter-gatherers, stone tool studies, analytical methodology, and animal domestication. Research areas include Latin America and the Southwestern U.S. His current research is on the site of Chavin de Huantar in Peru.
