Dennis Doxtater is a licensed architect, social anthropologist and associate professor at the School of Architecture, University of Arizona. In addition to teaching design studios, a lecture course on architectural programming and seminars on social space, his principal research interests have involved the study of sacred ritual frameworks and social action in the Old Norwegian Farm Culture (dissertation), more contemporary local ritual processes and architecture of Swedish office organizations, and georitual patterns between ancient ceremonial sites and significant natural features on Minoan Crete and in the Pueblo Ancestor culture of the Southwest. His undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Washington was followed by two years service as a Peace Volunteer in Peru. Graduate work included a master of arts in Social Anthropology, also at the University of Washington, and a D.Arch. from the University of Michigan.
