While there are several definitions of a webzine, the most common one is a magazine type publication that is published and posted online instead of in print format. It is the next generation form of an ezine, which was a publication that was usually published by email.

There are several distinctions that differentiate a webzine from a blog. A blog usually follows a personal narrative format in that new entries are posted at the top and an archive is automatically generated based on dates of entries (even though new blog services now offer tagging and catergorization, these aren't the main featueres of blogs). Webzines, meanwhile, are organized more in an editorial basis, with front pages offering headlines and content changes, rather than instant access to the latest entries. Also, webzines can have an editorial content management system of some sorts, and is published on a regular basis.
