Morgan le Fay, sometimes known as Morgaine, is Arthur's half-sister. They share a mother, Igraine. Some storytellers will frighten you with tales of Morgan's wickedness, making her into an evil, old crone who resorts to promiscuity to get her way. I say she was a friend of her brother's, a talented healer and the most beautiful of the women of Avalon. Many believe that after Arthur suffered a mortal wound at Mordred's hand, Morgan took her half-brother to her home at Avalon by boat, healed him there, and kept him with her so that when Britain needs its greatest leader once more, he will be ready to emerge and lead his land to victory.
