Sebastian De Vivo: Justine and Kome, it was wonderful to watch your project come together throughout the quarter. Your project makes your questions explicit, and the structure of the project -- the journal, the extract the abstract, and the issues to consider -- makes it a rich exploration of earrings and the connections they gather. You bring up issues in the history of earings, including several from the class, throughout the project. Great job!

[chris witmore]: Great topic. Things of the mundane. Nice project intro. Questions are made explicit from the beginning. The journal is a great way to orient the project and explore the issues. Nice use of imagery. Ease of navigation. A few spelling errors. Obvious that this project mattered to both Justine and Kome. They engaged well with questions from lecture in the context of a wide range of issues: history, function, aesthetics, experience, issues of the body and pain, design, style and so on. I like the inclusion of case studies and the complementary section
more on earrings. Excellent work. Well done.

Comments & Suggestions
OUR PROJECT:
To look at the history of jewelry in the life of man over time with a specific focus on earrings. We want to explore how the significance of the earring has evolved from ancient Egypt to today in different regions.
Issues to consider
- What is the relationship between my earring and my body….my earring and I, my way of life, my culture?
- How does this make me who I am?
- What would I have to do if I didn’t have this earring?
- What is the physical, social, cultural work performed by this earring?
- Is there a significance?
How our project has evolved...
At first, Kome suggested that for a more thorough and personal, physical and analytical point of view...we would begin the first major phase of our project by creating Daily Journals.
We hoped it would be on a more regular as well as personal basis exploring the relationship between jewels, the earring and self, through our relationship with our own earrings.
But then Justine came up with an even better suggestion, that it may be more interesting to do an interactive diary that is shared between the both of us to create some dialogue around our day to day experiences with our earrings
Now, we are encouraging all who are interested to read as well as contribute to our ***Daily Journal***
We are aware that you are all itching to learn More on Earrings...so we've provided another section to our project
