I am just back from walking the streets of Rome with half a million others.
I was on a march in support of Giuliana Sgrena, the Italian journalist held hostage in Iraq. The event put most known sites of ancient Rome -the Forum, the Colosseum - into a new context. The march ended at the Circo Massimo, where marchers placed candles on the banks, and a massive screen data projected Guiliana's face, and her photographs, to the thousands gathered in the cold and the dimming light.
