Vessela Gertcheva has obtained an MA in Archaeology from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in 1998. Since then she has been involved in the not-for-profit sector and the development of Public Archaeology in Bulgaria. Has a 3 years experience in securing funding for archaeological expeditions and supporting the promotion of the results to the general public. Mrs. Gertcheva is a voluntary Chairwoman of VIR Society – a not-for – profit organization, which aims to support Bulgarian archaeologists in promoting their work more effectively and accessing alternative funding sources. Vessela is sitting as an Executive Director of the Bulgarian Donors’ Forum – a membership association of private grant making foundations and philanthropists in Bulgaria.
