Admin: In spite of great support and commitment from its members, this group was shut down in October 2006 with the argument that thinking deeply about archaeology was a minority interest at Stanford!

Never mind - you can still find us all at Metamedia!

We refuse to be made marginal!

WELCOME TO SAT

The Archaeology Center's Brown Bag Series

Autumn Quarter 2006

The purpose of Stanford Archaeological Theory is to build an intellectual community among the archaeology graduate students of Stanford University by establishing an open environment where we can learn from each other. We meet to read, discuss and debate relevant texts and help each other understand and use theory in archaeology. We will examine a broad range of topics extending beyond archaeology that embraces all theoretical perspectives. This is also a venue for graduate students to present their works-in-progress for critical feedback. We also are fortunate to get outside speakers who pre-circulate papers for discussion.

This is intended as an open forum and all suggestions are welcome. Everyone is encouraged to attend. Lunch will always be provided so please come along for the meal and join the conversation.

The Autumn 2006 flyer is available here: Document IconFLYER autumn 2006.doc

Any questions, comments or suggestions, please contact Serena Love slove@stanford.edu
