Michael Shanks: there's something about the theatricality of these (and the previous black and white shots) - the highlights in the shiny shoes - vaguely creepy, for me

Sebastian De Vivo: Ah, that's good! It took me a while to get this, playing with the distortion (just enough so that it's barely noticeable, to contort the lines and contours and suggest a fish-eye/panopticon), increasing the highlighs, muting only certain areas, and posing the shot just enough to suggest the theatricality of An Event without going overboard. Creepy was definitely what I was going for! I was also trying to go for the crime scene aesthetic of the prone shoes, which I'm absolutely fascinated by now, such as in Police Pictures, but I couldn't get it right in these. The marble resisted the grainy b/w look that I had originally envisioned, and the fake blood I had smeared on the floor just looked silly (too obvious). So I opted for the technicolor glossiness of these shots instead.
