'One man's trash is another man's treasure.'

I am interested in photographing garage sale items. These are items that the owner wants to dispose of, but they are also items that the owner still sees as valuable or still has an attachment to. I want to explore relationships between people and the items that they are selling. What stories do these collections tell about their owners? How does the display of these items convey that story or perhaps suggest another story and another relationship to a potential buyer?

I will focus on south bay area garage sales. I want detailed images that display the materiality of the garage sale items, and I want to include people in my photographs.
