I'm a freshman from Sacramento, CA interested in pursuing Product Design as a possible major. I heard about this class from a friend (Stefan Vraspir), and after attending the second lecture I was captivated. The topic that I have decided to pursue is jeans. I will explore the evolution of jeans as a staple of American fashion, the advertising concepts behind marketing jeans, as well as the aesthetic/functionality of the product. How is it that jeans developed from the simple attire of coal miners into this ubiquitous fashion? When people look at jeans do they see just denim pants or is their a lifestyle that the advertising portrays and society accepts? What do the different styles of jeans represent? Moreover, how are they an expression of an individual's personality?

[Kareem]: Actually.. I think you can JUST see them at the bottom left. That is, if you aren't distracted by the more prominently displayed assets.
